SAN CARLOS, CA, July 11, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ — Patrick J. Gendotti has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Transitioning from a background in mechanical engineering to become an accomplished software developer, Mr. Gendotti has carved a unique path in the technology industry. His journey began in academia with a Bachelor of Science in aerospace engineering in 2012 and a Master of Science in mechanical engineering in 2013, both from the University of Southern California. After laying a strong foundation for the first phase of his career, he went on to spend three years at Critchfield Mechanical Inc., a prominent heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) company.
Mr. Gendotti’s career trajectory took a pivotal turn when he decided to leave his role as a facilities system drafter at Stanford Health Care in Menlo Park, California, where he worked in 2018. Realizing that construction engineering and field work was not his long-term calling, he embraced the burgeoning field of software development. This decision was influenced by his exposure to programming courses that introduced him to website building and core programming skills.
Mr. Gendotti completed several courses through Coursera, Udacity, and Udemy, as well as a UC Berkeley data analytics and visualization boot camp, which afforded him ample networking opportunities and helped him land his first software internship. Moreover, the experience he gained through these programs allowed him to develop a robust portfolio, which includes his personal website and GitHub account, both of which showcase his extensive knowledge. His commitment to a new direction was complete when he secured his first position as a software developer at SandTech Solutions in 2021.
During his tenure at SandTech, Mr. Gendotti honed his skills as a full-stack developer, designing and building comprehensive web applications. His expertise spans both front-end and back-end development, enabling him to create robust end-to-end technical solutions. Despite facing challenges such as project cancellations and a difficult job market, he remained resilient and earned a Security+ certification to enhance his cybersecurity credentials.
Beginning the next part of his storied career, Mr. Gendotti is actively pursuing an online Master of Science in computer science at Georgia Institute of Technology. His academic focus on computing systems, particularly distributed systems and large-scale application design, is shaping his path toward becoming a software architect—a role responsible for the structural design and strategic direction of complex software systems.
Outside of his vocational and educational endeavors, Mr. Gendotti is known for his contributions as a civic-minded citizen. He has volunteered his time as a docent at the Hiller Aviation Museum in the San Francisco Bay Area and provided visitor services at the Santa Monica History Museum in 2013.
Mr. Gendotti’s personal interests include reading and playing video games — activities that have not only provided entertainment but have also informed his academic work in computer science. His familiarity with the video game industry inspired a research project during a writing-intensive course, where he proposed a well-received software solution to address inefficiencies in game production processes.
Looking to the future with optimism, Mr. Gendotti aims to finish his graduate studies and attain a senior software developer role at a prominent company. He envisions progressing into a higher-level role as a software architect, leveraging his expertise in designing and managing complex software systems. With a strong background in engineering complemented by his growing knowledge and accomplishments in software development, he is uniquely positioned to deliver innovative solutions and ascend to the forefront of the rapidly evolving information technology landscape.
