Ravi Bhalotia celebrates 25 years of excellence in the information technology industry

Since 2024, he has served as the senior vice president of engineering at RemoteLock, where he oversees engineering operations and drives strategic initiatives to advance the company’s technological capabilities. His tenure at RemoteLock began in 2021 as vice president of engineering, a role he held until 2024. During this period, Mr. Bhalotia played a pivotal role in scaling the engineering team and implementing robust processes that supported the company’s growth.
In addition to his responsibilities at RemoteLock, Mr. Bhalotia is also the co-founder and chief technology officer of Purpleslate Private Limited, a position he has held since 2015. His work at Purpleslate centers on leveraging artificial intelligence and conversational technologies to create innovative enterprise solutions.
Prior to these roles, Mr. Bhalotia contributed significantly to Pearson from 2015 to 2021, first as a senior enterprise architect, then as the manager of architecture and, later, as the director of enterprise architecture. At Pearson, he was instrumental in fostering a positive company culture and leading strategic changes that enhanced organizational adaptability and growth. Notably, he championed the integration of technology in education through projects such as Global Platform Services which aims to provide reusable, scalable and performant micro services that are deployed globally and can be used by multiple business units of Pearson from K-12 to professional education including ELS.
From 2011 to 2015, Mr. Bhalotia was the co-founder and chief technology officer at Sweet Relish, where he guided the development of consumer-focused digital products. He previously served as the director of technology at Acta Wireless from 2010 to 2011, overseeing mobile application development and technical strategy. His earlier career includes serving as the head of mobile technology at MBmobile LLC from 2008 to 2010, where he earned recognition as Employee of the Year in 2009 for his leadership and technical expertise. From 2005 to 2008, Mr. Bhalotia was the director of engineering at Opera Telecom, managing cross-functional teams responsible for delivering telecommunications solutions. Mr. Bhalotia’s professional journey began with roles as a senior technologist at the Public Broadcasting Service from 2002 to 2005 and a software engineer at Invertix Corporation from 2000 to 2002.
Mr. Bhalotia’s academic achievements have been integral to his success. He earned a Master of Science in telecommunications from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, in 2005 and a Bachelor of Science in computer science from Concord University in Athens, West Virginia, in 2001.
Mr. Bhalotia attributes much of his success to building strong relationships, hard work and the guidance of mentors throughout his career. A pivotal internship at a Washington, DC, area tech startup during his undergraduate studies introduced him to startup culture and product development, a turning point that ignited his passion for technology and innovation. Born in Kolkata, India, Mr. Bhalotia moved to the United States at age 18 with aspirations for higher education and professional growth.
