Mr. Yamona is a senior software architect at MHD Tuning in Philadelphia, where he has been instrumental in advancing the company’s mobile application and engine control unit (ECU) developments since 2019. His expertise in software development, reverse engineering, low level assembly (machine code), and C/C# programming has been pivotal in improving and expanding upon OEM ECU functionality. Mr. Yamona’s initial contributions to MHD Tuning include the world’s first complete FlexFuel implementation added to a modern OEM BMW ECU. More recently, he has developed real-time tuning capabilities for the latest BMW vehicles, a feature that has significantly benefited tuning shops by expediting the overall tuning adjustment process and dynamic performance testing.
The same year he joined MHD Tuning, Mr. Yamona became a lead software engineer at LodeStar Software Solutions, a mortgage software company. Initially, he was tasked with creating a management system that streamlined the calculation of state-specific fees, thus enabling Lodestar to replace a third-party provider. The system accurately calculates fees based on a wide variety of purchase, loan, and property data variables.
Mr. Yamona began his career at Leader Services in West Hazleton, Pennsylvania, working as a .NET developer from 2009 to 2013. His role involved developing software solutions for public school districts. During this period, he also pursued his passion for car programming and tuning, experimenting with various projects on the side. Mr. Yamona then served as a senior programmer at Tokio Marine North America Services LLC in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania. He began as a programmer III in 2013 and became a senior programmer between 2016 and 2019.
Mr. Yamona holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Business from Lehigh University since 2009 and a Master of Science in Software Engineering from the University of Scranton since 2013. These educational achievements laid the foundation for his successful software development and engineering career.
Outside of his primary professional endeavors, Mr. Yamona and his wife enjoy spending time golfing, hiking, cooking, brewery hopping, playing board games, and attending local car events. Looking ahead, he aims to address the growing backlog of feature requests at MHD Tuning while maintaining its status as a leading tuning solution for BMW vehicles. Additionally, he envisions expanding into another vehicle manufacturer’s market. Mr. Yamona attributes his success thus far to his determination as a developer, always striving to overcome challenges and find innovative solutions.
