Before becoming a full-time author and podcaster, Mr. Hasan spent more than two decades building and managing large-scale data, reporting and technology infrastructures within the financial services industry. His career included leadership positions at American International Group (AIG), AXA XL, PineBridge Investments and Prudential Financial, where he specialized in data architecture, analytics and operational systems.
Following corporate downsizing in 2017, Mr. Hasan redirected his attention toward independent research, publishing and education. Having spent years building databases and information systems, he became fascinated by Bitcoin and decentralized technologies not primarily as financial instruments, but as new forms of coordination, trust and information management.
His work increasingly focuses on a central question: how do people adapt when the systems surrounding them change?
That question has shaped both his interviews and his writing, leading to projects that explore entrepreneurship, recovery, creativity, technological disruption and human resilience. Many of these projects focus on builders, creators and entrepreneurs working under conditions of uncertainty, documenting how individuals adapt when established systems are under pressure. Mr. Hasan earned a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where he studied business, communications and geology. He was also recognized as a Senior Executive Fellow of The Digital Economist for 2024–2025.
