In 2018, Mr. Zavelo held dual roles at EdgeWave as an MSP/ISP account executive and email security adviser, where he focused on enhancing cybersecurity measures for clients. At Conversica Inc., he was a sales development team lead from 2016 to 2017, after initially joining the company in a sales development capacity from 2015 to 2016. He began his career as an account manager at GeoEdge from 2014 to 2015.
From 2010 to 2015, Mr. Zavelo competed in the Israeli Football League. He and his teammates pushed themselves to be the best athletes they could be, ultimately winning the IFL Championship in 2015. The competitive nature fostered by this experience was an asset to his later work in the technology industry.
Mr. Zavelo’s academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in communications and leadership from The University of Kansas, completed in 2010. While pursuing his studies, he participated in the university’s LeaderShape program, an experience he found very rewarding. After honing and developing his leadership skills, he hopes to one day return to the program as a facilitator for students pursuing their undergraduate degrees. Additionally, he maintains membership in Pavillion, the Toastmasters Club, the Austin Jewish Film Festival and Temple Beth Shalom.
Mr. Zavelo’s journey is marked by a blend of professional achievements and personal commitments that highlight his dedication to making significant contributions both within his industry and the broader community. He is actively involved in civic organizations such as Hungry Souls, where he volunteers, and Central Austin Toastmasters, where he served as vice president of membership from 2021 to 2025. Additionally, he supports NECHAMA, which provides natural disaster relief to different communities across the globe, and the Parents Circle Families Forum (PCFF), which brings together bereaved families of the Israeli/Palestine conflict in order to come to a peaceful resolution.
Mr. Zavelo’s most notable achievement has been lending his expertise to a startup company in its founding stages to help make significant industry-wide changes. He attributes his success to being surrounded by great teams, positive influences and supportive mentors.
