SEATTLE, WA / ACCESS Newswire / January 21, 2026 / Audiotool, the browser-based music production platform with more than 300,000 monthly active users, today announced the open beta launch of its redesigned Audiotool Studio, featuring NEXUS, an open developer platform and API that empowers creators and partners to build custom production tools that integrate seamlessly into Audiotool sessions.
NEXUS offers a new level of DAW Extensibility, enabling traditional desktop music applications and plugins to be brought into the cloud with minimal effort. The open platform also provides an unprecedented degree of API access to Audiotool’s audio engine, routing, and signal-processing capabilities, alongside MIDI, automation control, and plugin state management. This includes the ability for AI components to communicate with one another directly within the DAW-an industry first in music production software.
Developers can access virtually every part of Audiotool, enabling near-limitless expandability and depth within what is already one of the most powerful online DAWs on the market.

Beyond established software developers, independent creators can also leverage Nexus with popular LLM coding assistants such as Cursor to build custom instruments and workflows that can be shared with the community. As with all NEXUS integrations, these tools are multiplayer by design-allowing them to be collaboratively built and controlled by multiple users in real time.
