Jessica Douglas, Public Information Officer for the Board of Sumter County Commissioners, shared, “We needed a modern, user-friendly site to replace our outdated platform, ensuring that event information is always accurate and easy to access.”
One of the website’s new features allows local businesses to easily submit their events and promotions, helping to promote tourism and encourage visitors to explore Sumter County. “We want to encourage local businesses to submit their events and specials. This new feature makes it easier for both tourists and residents to discover what your business has to offer,” said Douglas.
The redesign is expected to drive increased engagement with the website, particularly with the interactive map that allows users to find local businesses and attractions. “We hope to see more visitors using the interactive map to discover what Sumter County has to offer,” said Russell.
With its new website, Discover Sumter aims to inspire visitors to explore the county while also supporting local businesses. “We hope everyone traveling through Sumter County on I-75, the Florida Turnpike, SR 44, or US 301 is inspired to stop and explore after seeing everything we have to offer,” said Douglas.
