has completed a full-scale evolution of its product portfolio, transitioning from a voice and missed-call services provider into a CPaaS company offering AI-first, omnichannel customer engagement infrastructure. The company, which was established in 2001 and has operated for 25 years in Indian enterprise communication, now serves businesses across banking, financial services, insurance, e-commerce, and retail sectors through a unified platform.
The CPaaS (Communications Platform as a Service) model allows enterprises to integrate communication capabilities – including SMS API, WhatsApp Business API, RCS messaging, AI voicebots, email automation, and chatbots – directly into their existing business applications and workflows. Helo.ai’s transition reflects a broader shift in how Indian enterprises approach customer communication, moving away from single-channel outreach toward integrated, data-driven engagement.
From missed calls to AI-powered messaging
VivaConnect was among the early CPaaS providers in India, building its infrastructure around high-volume voice calls, missed-call campaigns, and SMS-based marketing at a time when mobile internet penetration in India was limited.
The company’s network handled upwards of 50 million voice calls daily at its peak and was instrumental in several large-scale campaigns, including political outreach and mobile engagement initiatives for major consumer brands.
As smartphone adoption in India accelerated and messaging behaviour shifted from calls to apps, Helo.ai restructured its platform to reflect the changing landscape. The company has since been certified as a Google Partner for RCS (Rich Communication Services) and a Meta Business Partner for WhatsApp Business API two of the fastest-growing channels for enterprise customer communication in India.
