WordCamp US, the nation’s premier WordPress event, lands in Portland this year, drawing thousands of tech enthusiasts and injecting significant revenue into the local economy. Industry leaders will converge at the Oregon Convention Center to share insights, collaborate, and drive innovation.
Local businesses, startups, and entrepreneurs will benefit from networking opportunities, skill-building sessions, and access to WordPress founders and core developers. Portland area students will also have the opportunity to connect with hiring tech companies, explore internship options, and network with WordPress professionals, building career paths and forging new industry relations.
Headlining the event is Danny Sullivan, Google’s Public Liaison for Search, who will deliver a keynote address. He will be joined by fellow keynote speakers Matt Mullenweg, Co-Founder of WordPress, and Mary Hubbard, the Executive Director of WordPress.org, each bringing a unique vision to the main stage.
Notably, this massive event is being spearheaded by three dedicated women: Karla Campos, Megan Marcel, and Gale Wallace. These three women have steered the conference through challenges with vision and grace, helping shape an inclusive and forward-thinking gathering. Event organizers expect over 1,000 attendees, with 700 already registered. Local businesses anticipate increased foot traffic and revenue during the conference dates. Attendees will enjoy Portland’s culture, food scene, and attractions.
