The FileMaker-based customizable ERP software gFM-Business is now available in the new version 8.1. The extensive update brings with it numerous new features that significantly improve the integration with Shopware-based online stores, performance and international usability of the software. The update is available to all users of a valid gFM-Business 8.x license for download free of charge. gFM-Business can be used on a single workstation and in a network/Internet on a dedicated server on Apple macOS, Microsoft Windows and mobile on iOS.
Connection to Shopware 6 online stores
The focus of the new version is the integration of a native interface to Shopware 6, which can be used to import orders, articles and customer data from a Shopware 6 online store directly into gFM-Business. The seamless connection considerably simplifies the central management of online and offline sales and automates previously manual processes. The gFM-Business ERP software therefore contains an interface to both Shopware 5.x and 6.x and can also be used in multichannel operation with gFM-Business Professional.
In addition, numerous functions in the area of document creation and invoicing have been improved. New features include automatic maintenance of the VAT rate for document discounts and shipping costs when creating new documents based on customer data in the CRM module. The calculation of multiple VAT rates within a document has also been corrected in the master document module to ensure correct tax reporting.
Improved performance
A small technical highlight of the update is the performance optimization through the conversion of all global control fields (_sGlobal) from calculated formulas to real number fields with automatic data entry. This change ensures a noticeable acceleration in the use of the software – especially with large data sets.
In addition, the user interface for the “Custom” authorization group has been revised and made more user-friendly. The access options for all three authorization groups (“Full access”, “Custom” and “Open license”) have been standardized. At the same time, database access has been enabled via all FileMaker interfaces – including FileMaker WebDirect, Data API (REST), OData, XML and PHP Web Publishing as well as ODBC/JDBC. This makes it even easier to connect external systems.
Electronic invoicing and multilingualism
Internationally active companies also benefit from the update: the multilingual management of payment methods has been expanded. When creating foreign-language receipts, the payment methods are automatically maintained and translated in the respective language – even if the language of the receipt is subsequently changed.
The export scripts for electronic invoices have been revised and now also support export in ZUGFeRD format 2.1/2.2 Comfort, in addition to the familiar XRechnung format. This means that gFM-Business meets all requirements for electronic invoicing to public clients and business partners.

Availability: The update to version 8.1 is now available for free download in the customer area of gFM-Business for all users of an 8.x license.
Flexibly customizable and expandable
A special feature of the gFM-Business ERP software is its high level of customizability, which allows companies to adapt the software precisely to their individual requirements. Two flexible license models are available for this purpose: the “Custom” license and the “Open license”.
The custom license gives users the option of adapting print layouts, user interfaces (masks), table structures and fields to the respective operational requirements – without any in-depth programming knowledge. This allows the software to be customized, for example to map specific business processes or for company-specific forms and evaluations.
The open license goes one step further and is aimed at professional users and developers. It allows full access to the entire source code of the software, including all scripts and automation processes. This means that any processes can be extended, modified or newly developed – for example for industry-specific functions, interfaces to third-party systems or internal company workflows. This license form offers maximum freedom in the design of the ERP solution and enables companies to use gFM-Business as a completely individual platform for their business processes.
Thanks to these differentiated license models, gFM-Business is a scalable and future-proof solution for both smaller companies with limited need for customization and for demanding users with complex requirements.
