Aneta Reynolds and Jackie Dodson recently received a big thank you from the founder of the Jazz Joy and Roy Global Radio Network. The reason? These longtime JazzJoyandRoy.com listeners were among the first to tell the network what they were doing the day Elvis or Whitney died.

Reynolds told Jazz Joy and Roy, “I listened to the way your History Radio station described the day Elvis died and it all just took me back to Paris, where I got the news just after I landed to start my one year break from college. I was devastated.”

Dodson was enjoying a hot dog near world-famous Venice Beach when the radio told her about the death of Whitney Houston.

“I remember thinking about the unfortunate months and years leading up this tragedy and my heart went out to Whitney’s daughter. Suddenly what was a delicious meal turn into out and out rubbish that I had to throw away. I was so sad.”
