Overath, 23.09.2025 – The term “liquid glass” is currently on everyone’s lips – in tech blogs, social media and the international media. This is an exciting development for CCM GmbH from Overath, as the company has been a pioneer of spray-on and wipe-on liquid glass coatings for cell phone displays for almost 20 years and also develops and produces coatings for many other household, commercial and industrial surfaces.
Back in 2011, CCM was the first company in the world to launch a liquid glass coating specifically for cell phone displays. At that time, most displays were still made of plastic. The innovation caused a sensation with its high scratch resistance and water repellency and was quickly sold in over 60 countries – both under its own name and as an OEM solution.

Since 2011, CCM has continuously optimized its liquid glass coating – today it makes the smartphone display scratch-resistant and water-repellent, has a biostatic effect (significantly inhibits the growth of bacteria on the surface) and reduces exposure to gamma radiation, which is considered to be highly damaging to cells.
