San Diego, CA) Jimmy Carter will be remembered for many things-president of the United States, Nobel Prize winner, advocate for Habitat for Humanity, farmer, and family man-but the one that stands out the most for Dr. David Jeremiah is former President Carter’s devotion to his faith and church.
“Despite all that comes with being the president of the United States, Mr. Carter returned to his hometown and went back to church. That kind of commitment comes from the humble spirit emanating from someone following Christ’s example. I may not have agreed with all his political positions or decisions, but his humble spirit and devotion to his faith and family can be an example to everyone.”
Dr. Jeremiah sends his deepest condolences to the family and friends of former president Jimmy Carter. When human words fall short in moments like this, we can rely on the words that have stood the test of time. May God’s promises spoken through the prophets speak to the Carter family today and in the coming days. For we know that “the Lord is near to the brokenhearted” and that “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.”
Please join me in praying for the Carter family today and in the coming days.
