Since joining the e-commerce conglomerate in 2021, he has launched several successful initiatives, including the “Prime Day 2022 Sweepstakes,” the Black-Owned Business badging and certification initiative on Amazon search, and the scalable platform “Seller Discussion Forums,” a social hub for over two million Amazon sellers worldwide. Before obtaining his current role with the company, Mr. Savitala was the senior software development manager overseeing 80-plus team members and launching various scalable, profitable initiatives.
During the early stages of his career, Mr. Savitala gained valuable expertise as the principal and software engineering manager for Microsoft, the lead software engineer for Cognizant Technology Solutions, and a software engineer with Infosys. An expert in his field, he earned a Bachelor of Science in electronics from Osmania University’s Loyola Academy in 1996 and a Master of Science in computer science from his alma mater three years later. Mr. Savitala has remained dedicated to further education throughout his career, completing the chief technology officer program through Wharton Executive Education and a graduate degree in machine learning through Amazon Machine Learning University.
In conjunction with his work, Mr. Savitala has contributed to his community as a robotics coach for the Lake Washington School District and a Science Olympiad coach. Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, he credits his success to great leaders, including Sidd Lathia and Claire O’Donnell, who gave him much-needed visibility and boosted his confidence.
