In his current capacity as connected planning sales lead at Kearney Activate in Tennessee, a role he began in 2024, Mr. Barry engages directly with clients, delivers platform demonstrations and navigates all stages of the sales cycle. He is responsible for understanding client needs during the pre-sales phase, negotiating contracts for software implementations and managing change management programs. His work includes meeting with C-suite executives at Fortune 500 companies, communicating value propositions for business transformation, and developing internal talent by coaching consultants on career advancement. Mr. Barry is also recognized for mentoring young professionals at Kearney, guiding them in their career development and helping them discover their passions.
Prior to this position, Mr. Barry served as director and global Anaplan alliances lead at Cervello in Massachusetts from 2023-2024, where he focused on fostering international collaborations and driving growth through innovative planning solutions.
From 2021 to 2023, Mr. Barry served as a director of delivery at Cervello in Massachusetts, where he led teams delivering advanced planning solutions to clients across various industries. His leadership was pivotal during a major project launched in 2023 for a prominent client in Alaska. This initiative marked the first large-scale collaboration between Cervello’s connected planning group and Kearney’s management consulting division, integrating two distinct operational styles. Despite logistical challenges, including an 18-hour flight from East Tennessee to Alaska, Mr. Barry worked with a team of 13 members who embraced diverse approaches to transform every aspect of the client’s production cycle. The project resulted in significant operational improvements and established a long-term relationship with the client that continues to generate new opportunities for Kearney.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Barry served as a solution architect at Akili from 2019 to 2021. In this capacity, he developed training programs and implemented connected planning solutions that improved clients’ organizational efficiency. From 2011 to 2019, he worked as a senior architect at Eastman Chemical Company, where he contributed to large-scale technology initiatives and process improvements. Concurrently, from 2011 to 2013, he gained experience as a frontend web developer at ET Online.
Mr. Barry’s academic background has been foundational to his professional success. He earned a Master of Business Administration in international business and finance from Washington State University in 2020. This advanced degree gave him a comprehensive understanding of global markets and financial strategies, which has informed his approach to business development and client engagement. In 2014, he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in computer science from East Tennessee State University. He earned a Bachelor of Science in philosophy from the same institution that year. His studies in philosophy honed his analytical thinking and ethical decision-making.
