As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
With a particular focus on serving sovereign nations and tribal governments, Mr. Katz has built a distinguished career in technology sales, application development and network management. In 2025, he began his tenure at IBM as a sovereign nations solution specialist, where he is responsible for fostering customer satisfaction and collaborating with major partners such as Microsoft, Amazon and Amazon Web Services (AWS). His efforts are directed toward ensuring these partners understand the benefits IBM customers can derive from automation processes.
Additionally, Mr. Katz engages directly with sovereign communities to raise awareness of how IBM’s automation solutions can be implemented within their unique environments. He also works in civilian federal automation sales, where he supports the United States Department of Education and the Environmental Protection Agency in their own automation procedures.
Prior to joining IBM, Mr. Katz served as a senior account executive for sovereign nations and tribal governments at Amazon Business from 2024 to 2025. The culmination of more than five years at the company, he was pivotal in initiating the sovereign nations vertical at Amazon Business — a milestone he considers his most significant professional achievement. By articulating the importance of focusing on American Indian communities, he demonstrated how Amazon Business could play a pivotal role in supporting rural areas while simultaneously creating economic advantages for both Amazon and tribal governments.
From 2022 to 2024, Mr. Katz excelled in national strategic accounts for sovereign nations and tribal governments at Amazon Business. During this period, he continued to build relationships with key stakeholders and furthered the company’s commitment to serving these communities. His earlier role as a customer advisor for local, state and federal government organizations in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area allowed him to develop expertise in navigating complex government procurement processes and tailoring solutions to meet their diverse supply needs.
In 2019, Mr. Katz worked as an account executive at Level Access in Vienna, Virginia, where he contributed to advancing digital accessibility initiatives for users with disabilities. The previous year, he was an inside sales account executive at Nexus in Falls Church, focusing on technology solutions for a range of clients in the real estate sector. He gained valuable foundational experience as an account development executive at Clarabridge — a software platform that focuses on enhancing customer experiences — in 2016 before advancing to a senior role in 2017.
Before venturing onto his path in the technology sector, Mr. Katz pursued higher education and earned a Master of Science in sports and exercise from Gannon University as well as a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology and exercise science from The Pennsylvania State University. To augment his technical acumen and sales expertise, he is certified in concert sales foundation and webMethods application programming interface (API) management by IBM. Additionally, he earned an Amazon Business sale tech certificate from Amazon Business in 2023.
Along with his education in the classroom, Mr. Katz attributes much of his success to the lessons learned through his athletic endeavors as a former Junior Olympian and collegiate athlete in gymnastics and cheerleading. This accomplished background instilled in him perseverance, fearlessness when facing challenges and a willingness to learn from mistakes — traits that continue to drive his endeavors today. He credits hard work, curiosity and being passionate about one’s pursuits as core values underpinning his professional journey.
Throughout his career, Mr. Katz has been recognized for his dedication to outstanding customer service and achieving results. During his tenure at Amazon Business, he received the Customer Obsession Award in 2022 and was honored with the Q2 Top Performer award for Leadership Principle: Deliver Results in 2020. His earlier accolades include the Top Rookie Award from Level Access in 2019 and the Hustler Award from Clarabridge in 2017.
Known for his contributions as a civic-minded citizen, Mr. Katz has served as the junior branch president of Children’s International Summer Villages since 1999, demonstrating a longstanding dedication to cross-cultural understanding and youth development. He is also a donor to women’s homeless shelters, reflecting his commitment to supporting vulnerable populations within his community. Happily married and a proud father of one daughter and one son, he values time spent with his family above all else.
In the coming years, Mr. Katz aims to continue advancing his work with IBM by exploring ways for sovereign entities to build greater trust when partnering with corporations such as Amazon and Apple. On a personal level, he remains committed to creating stability and flexibility for his family while maintaining harmony between his work commitments and home life. His journey is marked by integrity, a desire for continuous learning and genuine care for colleagues and clients alike — qualities that define his approach to leadership within sovereign communities and beyond.
