Her career began at Symantec Corp as an SQA engineer from 2007 to 2009, following a position as a senior software engineer at the National Institute of Information Technology from 1995 to 1997.
Ms. Sharma’s academic background laid a strong foundation for her professional achievements. She earned a Master of Science in computer science from California State University Long Beach in 2006 and a Bachelor of Technology in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in 1993. Her education has been complemented by several certifications, including architecting in AWS, computer hardware and operating systems, networking basics, Kubernetes and neural networks and deep learning. These credentials have significantly contributed to her technical proficiency and career advancement.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Ms. Sharma is actively involved in civic organizations. She has been leading the Session 2 Bookstore at Chinmaya Mission since 2010, demonstrating her commitment to community service. Ms. Sharma’s talents are not limited to engineering; she has excelled in various competitions, winning the Indian and Western Music Competitions and receiving a scholar’s badge during high school in India. She also ranked fourth in the Junior Science Talent Search and won a silver medal in the Math Olympiad Competition.
In her personal life, Ms. Sharma enjoys singing, listening to music, working out, cooking and experimenting with both Indian and Western recipes.
