Mr. Byleveld has established a distinguished career in technology and business leadership, currently serving as chief revenue officer at JourneyApps since 2013. Over the past 12 years, he has played a pivotal role in managing teams across sales, account management and customer success, while guiding the sales process for global customers. His responsibilities include ensuring seamless customer experiences, supporting team members in understanding client histories and needs, introducing emerging technologies to enhance efficiency and utilizing artificial intelligence to project customer churn. Mr. Byleveld has also implemented automated support processes to improve service delivery and regularly reports to the chief executive officer and the board on revenue growth and channel performance. He is recognized for building high-performing teams, engaging directly with top customers and staying attuned to market trends through ongoing client interactions.
A defining achievement in Mr. Byleveld’s career was his instrumental role in relocating his company from South Africa to the United States. In 2016, he and several co-founders moved the business to Colorado, establishing headquarters in Denver while residing in Colorado Springs. This transition required adapting to a new country, navigating the immigration process and expanding the business without major investor funding. Mr. Byleveld’s determination enabled him to find a niche in the competitive U.S. market and achieve sustained growth over nine years, culminating in his naturalization as a U.S. citizen in February 2025.
Before his current position, Mr. Byleveld served as chairman of Infinity Rewards from 2010 to 2013. During this period, he provided strategic oversight and direction for the company’s operations. Concurrently, he held the role of chief executive officer at mytcg Technologies from 2010 to 2011, where he led efforts to secure digital rights from South African rugby, an accomplishment comparable to obtaining rights from a major U.S. sports franchise. This enabled his company to create an innovative brand that engaged children through digital trading cards.
From 2009 to 2010, Mr. Byleveld served as vice president of channel sales for Europe and Africa at FireID, where he oversaw regional sales strategies and partnerships for two-factor authentication software solutions. His earlier tenure as turnaround chief executive officer at Infinity Rewards, from 2006 to 2009, was marked by a successful business turnaround. He reduced the workforce size while helping most employees transition into new roles, a testament to his commitment to team success during challenging times.
Between 2003 and 2006, Mr. Byleveld served as vice president of the financial services technology division for Africa at Software Futures, overseeing technology solutions tailored for financial institutions across the continent. He previously held the position of vice president of sales for Delos Technology at Software Futures from 2002 to 2003, focusing on expanding market reach and driving revenue growth.
Mr. Byleveld’s earlier experience includes serving as a key account executive for integration solutions at Dimension Data from 1999 to 2002, where he was recognized as Salesperson of the Year for his outstanding performance. He also earned membership in The Inner Circle during this time. From 1997 to 1999, he worked as a regional manager and architectural software specialist at Bentley Systems Incorporated, following four years as an architectural technology specialist at Coetzee Campbell & Associates, which began in 1993.
His academic background includes pursuing a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in artificial intelligence in business at the University of Cumbria. He holds a higher national diploma in architecture from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology in Cape Town, South Africa.
Mr. Byleveld has further enhanced his expertise through several certifications, including a post graduate qualification in artificial intelligence for leaders from McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin, generative artificial intelligence and prompt engineering for ChatGPT credentials from Vanderbilt University, executive education instructor certification from Executive Education Institute, customer service management certification through the customer experience professional certificate program at Leeds School of Business at University of Colorado Boulder, and a world rugby certification.
He attributes his professional success to humility and attentive listening, qualities that he honed while working abroad in Europe, the United Kingdom, and Australia. By valuing others’ perspectives and fostering collaboration rather than imposing his own ideas, Mr. Byleveld has built strong teams and supportive communities throughout his career. He draws inspiration from “The Go-Giver” book series, emphasizing that adding value for others leads to mutual benefit.
Mr. Byleveld’s entry into his profession began with formal training as an architectural technologist specializing in high-rise buildings and assisted living spaces during the mid-1990s. Embracing computer-aided design technologies brought him recognition from Bentley Systems, which led to international opportunities, including an intensive IBM boot camp in New York and subsequent leadership roles across Europe before returning to South Africa as general manager for Western Cape operations. His career advanced further at NTT Dimension Data, with a focus on financial technologies, before he took on turnaround leadership roles and joined startups focused on authentication software and mobile game cards.
Born in Paarl, South Africa, Mr. Byleveld enjoys coaching rugby, supporting wrestling, appreciating fine arts, attending theater performances, watching ballet and modern dance productions, experiencing opera, fine dining and traveling. He is passionate about exploring local mountains, following motorsports and watching Formula One races.
Looking ahead, Mr. Byleveld prioritizes supporting his son through high school and into college while continuing to work with talented teams on projects that drive meaningful change through technology innovation.
