Prior to his current role, Mr. Luxford served as a senior member of technical staff 3 at VMware from 2022 to 2023. Concurrently, he was an instructor at Grand Circus, where he shared his extensive knowledge in software development and engineering. From 2019 to 2022, he was a senior technical delivery manager at Nexient in Ann Arbor, Michigan, following his tenure as a technical delivery manager at the same company from 2018 to 2019. Additionally, he worked as a desktop authentication engineer at Trusona from 2020 to 2021.
Mr. Luxford’s career also includes significant contributions as a senior software engineer at Homepoint in Ann Arbor from 2016 to 2018 and Duo Security from 2014 to 2016. He held the position of architect at Accurate Technologies from 2013 to 2014 and was a senior software engineer there from 2012 to 2013. Earlier in his career, he was a lead software engineer at CyberNet Systems from 2010 to 2012 and an IT director at the American Red Cross of Santa Monica from 2007 to 2011. His extensive experience also includes roles as a senior software engineer at ASG Software from 2008 to 2010 and Symantec Corporation from 1995 to 2007. He began his professional journey as a database programmer analyst at Advanced Lab Systems from 1992 to 1995.
Mr. Luxford’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in computer software engineering from the Oregon Institute of Technology, earned in 2000, following coursework in computer science at the University of Oregon from 1992 to 1995. His commitment to continuous learning is evident through his numerous certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) obtained in 2002 and renewed in 2008 through Intense School; Exam 762: Developing SQL Databases, MCSA: SQL 2016 Database Development, and Exam 761: Querying Data with Transact-SQL by Microsoft in 2018; and AWS Technical Professional by Amazon in 2018.
Throughout his career, Mr. Luxford has been involved in several impactful projects. At Home Depot’s flooring division, he significantly contributed to a billion-dollar revenue stream. His work with Symantec involved managing billion-dollar annual operations across six different environments, dealing with complex remote work and solving intricate problems without documentation or access to source code.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Luxford has consistently dedicated himself to volunteer work. During his time at Celebration Fellowship in Oregon, he devoted a significant amount of work to managing the church’s finances and ensuring all financial responsibilities were fulfilled. At Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Santa Monica, he actively volunteered in children’s church and led a snacks fellowship, all while managing the church’s multimedia services. He has also volunteered with the Red Cross of Santa Monica and within his local community.
In his personal life, Mr. Luxford is a devoted husband and father who enjoys spending time with his family. Looking ahead, he plans to continue excelling in his current position while prioritizing stability for his family. He aspires to retire and pursue entrepreneurship by establishing a software consultancy firm in Kenya and addressing the critical need for clean water through innovative technology for large-scale distilled water production facilities.
