He currently serves as Principal Engineer at Beyond Identity, where he collaborates with cross-functional engineering teams to drive the architecture and production development of products built on next-generation real-time data platforms. In this role, he contributes to phishing-resistant authentication through device-bound credentials and supports enterprise integration through identity federation protocols, including WS-Federation and WS-Trust.
Prior to joining Beyond Identity, Mr. Roy spent more than seven years at Visa, where he was promoted to Director of the Visa Data and AI Platform. During his tenure, he played a central role in the conception, development, and scaling of Visa’s Real-Time AI Platform, a mission-critical enterprise system supporting more than 50 machine learning models in production. The platform today scores millions of transactions daily in under ten milliseconds while maintaining 99.999% availability, enabling real-time fraud detection, authorization, risk analytics, and payment decisioning across Visa’s global network. Mr. Roy also contributed to building and mentoring a globally distributed engineering organization across the United States and India.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Roy held senior engineering roles at Ixia (later acquired by Keysight Technologies), where he served as Senior Principal Software Engineer and contributed to the development of industry-recognized network packet broker platforms, including Vision ONE. His work supported product innovation, operational excellence, and commercial success during a period of significant growth for the company. He also held engineering leadership roles at GameStop’s cloud gaming division, Cisco Systems, and Motorola, contributing to foundational technologies spanning cloud gaming infrastructure, industrial networking, and CDMA wireless systems during key phases of technological evolution.
Mr. Roy’s technical contributions are further distinguished by his work in applied artificial intelligence and machine learning systems. He is credited with a U.S. patent granted in 2023 for a method that enables the dynamic scheduling of machine learning inference jobs with differentiated quality-of-service requirements on shared infrastructure. His professional achievements have been recognized through multiple industry honors, including the Ixia Engineering Star Award, the Cisco Achievement Program Award, and the Motorola Bravo Award.
Academically, Mr. Roy holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Cyprus College, where he received the Academic Excellence Award, and a Master of Science in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Arlington, where he also served as a graduate teaching assistant. He further completed a Postgraduate Program in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at The University of Texas at Austin.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Mr. Roy is actively engaged in community and civic leadership. He founded and chaired Bandhan Friends and Family, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering cultural engagement and inclusivity in the Greater Austin area, and previously served as Chairperson of the Bangladesh Association of Greater Austin.
