Previously, he served as a senior investment associate at Fuel Venture Capital from 2022 to 2023 focusing on Series A technology investments and leading the firm’s research efforts. His tenure at Assure Syndicates included serving as principal from 2021 to 2022 and as regional director for the U.S. East Coast in 2021 where he helped build one of the largest HNWI investment groups in the United States. Earlier roles include being senior investment analyst at VU Venture Partners between 2020 and 2021 and starting his investment career in 2019 at ffVC in New York City.

Mr. Cazacu’s academic background is equally distinguished. He holds a Master of Professional Accounting in financial reporting and assurance from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin, the highest rated accounting program in the United States. Additionally, he earned both a Bachelor of Science in business with a double concentration in accounting and entrepreneurship and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Rochester where he studied under the leading professors in human motivation. These educational achievements have been pivotal in his career success, providing him with a strong foundation in financial analysis, strategic thinking and management.

Mr. Cazacu’s leadership has also been marked by several board of director nominations including serving as a director for Unitea, a cutting edge music technology company based in Miami, from 2022 to 2023 and Valia, an AI real estate platform based in Lima, Peru from 2021 to present day, as well as a board observer for Novopayment, a leading fintech company based in Miami, from 2022 to 2023.

Mr. Cazacu’s contributions extend beyond his professional endeavors. He has been involved with civic-minded organizations such as Et Alia Theatre, a New York City based not-for-profit theathre company, where he is a board director since 2024 and served as a mentor for ODC Scouts with On Deck and many other entrepreneurial programs. His accolades include the Miami Inno Fire Award, presented by the South Florida Business Journal in 2024, and the CREA Global award, bestowed by the Brainz Magazine in 2024.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Cazacu has made significant contributions through publications and projects. His book, “When They Win, You Win: A More Human Approach To Supporting Entrepreneurship” published in 2019 by New Degree Press, presents the case for how regions, cities, and organizations can foster entrepreneurial growth and became a best seller at launch in its category on Amazon. He has also co-authored articles such as “6 Things Early-Stage VCs Need To See Before Making An Investment” and hosted podcasts like “The Fundraising Debrief” and “The VC Architects” while appearing as a guest on many others.

Throughout his journey, Mr. Cazacu attributes much of his success to the influence of his parents. Growing up in middle class circumstances taught him the value of hard work and determination, qualities instilled by his father’s work ethic and his mother’s compassion as a physician. These lessons have guided him throughout his career, enabling him to achieve rapid advancement and make meaningful contributions across various sectors.

On a personal note, Mr. Cazacu was born in Bucharest and enjoys documentaries, playing classical guitar and is an avid runner.
