Mr. Lo has built a distinguished career in systems administration and engineering, with over 30 years of experience in the field. His journey began during the era of Unix systems, before he adeptly transitioned to Linux over the years. Since 2021, Mr. Lo has served as the deputy program manager and senior principal systems engineer at BAE Systems. In this role, he oversees a team of 20 employees, providing critical support to federal government clients. As the lead subject matter expert, he is responsible for teaching server-side hardware and updating presentations with new software capabilities. His dedication to continuous learning is evident in his commitment to teaching four classes annually, where Mr. Lo imparts knowledge to experienced professionals.
Before being acquired by BAE Systems, Mr. Lo was a senior security engineer at Securicon LLC, an application, system and network security consulting company, from 2017 to 2021. His tenure at Securicon followed his roles as a senior systems engineer at Navstar from 2016 to 2017 and at Leidos in 2016. Between 2015 and 2017, Mr. Lo also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Phoenix, where he enjoyed the opportunity to learn new concepts while teaching in-person classes.
Mr. Lo’s career also included significant contributions as a senior systems engineer at Novetta Solutions from 2012 to 2016, during which he continued to expand his technical expertise. Earlier roles included senior Unix administrator at ManTech International and Tangible Software, as well as positions at Unisys, SAIC, Intelsat, and Ernst & Young Technologies, among others. Mr. Lo began his career in information technology with CR Software Inc. in 1992 as a support analyst.
Instrumental in his professional success, Mr. Lo’s academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in information systems from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, in 1992. Subsequently, he earned a Master of Science in information systems from Johns Hopkins University in 2012. Mr. Lo also received a graduate certificate in competitive intelligence from Johns Hopkins University in 2012 and a security CE certification from CompTIA in 2016.
Mr. Lo is an avid pilot and member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, who enjoys flying recreationally. Looking ahead, he is eager about future success in his field, aiming to expand his program’s impact and become the program manager at BAE Systems.
