Kathy “Joy” Gray was taken to the hospital by ambulance on the morning of Wednesday, July 23, 2025. She is suffering from what doctors say is a “low hemoglobin” count.
“Our litmus test that we have been using around the house lately,” said husband Roy O’Dell Gray, “involves whether or not Kathy Joy can get from room to room with some frequency with minimal assistance and backup. So when Kathy Joy’s condition did not allow her to pass the test Wednesday, and her temperature reached a highly uncharacteristic 99.4, I dialed 911.”
While Roy told his publicist he dreads the possibility that Kathy Joy might not get the exact request-response times that he feels his wife deserves in today’s overcrowded hospital system, he repeated his customary verbal applause for Kathy’s doctors, calling them “The A-Plus-Plus Team” and “the kind of health partners any family would want.”
