When an unhoused man approached the founder of The Jazz Joy and Roy Global Radio Network for cash for food recently, he was offered a meal in exchange for telling JazzJoyandRoy.com the story of his journey. Here is a brief account of what happened to the man who calls himself Homeless Henry.
“After my daughter died, I started drinking real heavy, real heavy,” said Homeless Henry to JazzJoyandRoy.com DJ Roy O’Dell Gray, devouring a hot chicken sandwich.
Homeless Henry said, “The truth is my life from that point on has been endless bottles of alcohol to try to drink away that pain. I do believe in God, but so far I just cannot seem to shake this sickness (alcoholism) and I don’t have a problem with you and the people that listen to your station whispering a prayer now and again for Ole Homeless Henry here. Thanks for the sandwich, Man, gots to go.”
