Prior to that, he led global engineering teams at Amazon as the head of engineering for the Alexa Entertainment division from 2019 to 2022. In this capacity, he oversaw significant enhancements to Alexa’s music, radio, and podcast features, leveraging cutting-edge technology to improve user experiences.
Mr. Daptardar’s career at Amazon began in 2012 when he joined as a senior software development engineer for EC2 Spot. He later advanced to become a senior software development manager at Amazon Web Services and operated in that capacity between 2015 and 2018. One of his most notable achievements at Amazon was his collaboration on a cancer research project that significantly reduced costs and accelerated research timelines through innovative cloud solutions.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Daptardar honed his skills at Microsoft Corporation, where he served as a senior software development engineer from 2010 to 2012 and as a software development engineer from 2006 until 2010. He began his journey at Ashley Laurent Inc. as a test engineer in 2004, progressing to roles as a software developer and senior software engineer until 2006. Throughout his career, he has been awarded nine patents through his work with Amazon and Microsoft, underscoring his contributions to technical innovation.
His academic background laid the foundation for Mr. Daptardar’s professional accomplishments. He earned a Bachelor of Engineering in computer science from the University of Mumbai in India in 2002, followed by a Master of Science in computer science from Washington State University in 2004. He attributes much of his success to the mentors who helped him develop his strengths and address areas for growth.
On the personal front, Mr. Daptardar lives in Redmond, WA, with his wife, 2 daughters, and their beloved dog (golden retriever).
