The Finding Papa Movie Wins Official Selection Feature Documentary
December 13, 2024 San Diego, CA – The independent documentary film The Finding Papa Movie was named as an Official Selection in the Hollywood Filmmaker Awards and Festival. The film, directed by Julianne Eggold and produced by Joelle Eggold Kohn, is a road trip journey through California to find answers after a father’s chaotic death twenty years ago. In the film, the sisters meet with experts in forensics, search and rescue, archaeology, psychology, and spirituality, plus those from their father’s past, and are faced with revelations and a very unexpected turn of events.
“We are so excited to receive this news from the well-regarded Hollywood Independent Filmmaker Awards and Festival,” said Julianne. “It is validating to have our film about family, mystery, and the emotions around a loved one’s death recognized in the Feature Documentary category. Established in 2015, the Hollywood Independent Filmmaker Awards is an IMDb qualifying independent film competition geared toward independent filmmakers worldwide. The festival is committed to showcasing truly independent films and dedicated to finding those “hidden gems” that may otherwise be overlooked by the bigger festivals because of the lack of name recognition or budget.
The Finding Papa Movie is a part of Mouse and Weens Productions, a company started in 2018 with a podcast of the same name.
