Without releasing names, Jazz Joy and Roy Global Radio has issued a statement today banning 5 listeners who violated the network’s profanity policy. The listeners, who have received direct notices that they have been banned, reside in Los Angeles, New York, Boston, Chicago, and Houston, respectively.
The move pains JazzJoyandRoy.com founder Roy O’Dell Gray.
“I don’t know why these listeners chose to ignore the warning clearly posted on JazzJoyandRoy.com that ‘any communication from a listener that uses more than 10 profane words or expressions is subject to deletion,'” Gray said, clarifying, “I like to think that Jazz Joy and Roy Global Radio endeavors to meet listeners where are, but I finally just had to ban this handful of listeners when, even after having several emails deleted and ignored, they continued to use unlimited profanity on me in response to my opinion that Mel Torme, Sam Harris of Star Search fame, Vocalist Carole Gray, Whitney Houston, Dolly, Reba, Luther, Patti, Frank and Barbra-in that particular order-are the best singers of all time.”
Salty language loving listeners who are willing use less than ten curse words were encouraged to continue writing to ProfanityTeam@JazzJoyandRoy.com.
