NAPLES, FL, June 01, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ — John William Dean has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Dean has led an impactful career of three decades in the field of assistive technology, dedicating his consulting expertise to researching, implementing and supporting hardware and software solutions for individuals who face physical and cognitive challenges. His commitment to this area is evident through his work in addressing visual, hearing, mobility and speech impairments, as well as cognitive difficulties including attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia and other neurosensory challenges. He is recognized for his exceptional longevity in the profession, having initially been hired as a programmer before embracing new responsibilities that would define his legacy.
In 2026, Mr. Dean became the servant-owner of John 3:30 Consulting, LLC, where he continues to help individuals with disabilities navigate technology with confidence and supports those facing challenges, with a particular focus on older individuals.
Prior to starting his own venture, Mr. Dean served as both the technical administrator and product owner of assistive technology and as an infrastructure analyst at State Farm from 2022 to 2026. In these capacities — the culmination of 40 years with the insurance giant — he was pivotal in advancing the company’s efforts to provide accessible solutions for employees and clients with disabilities.
Over the course of nearly 20 years, Mr. Dean worked as an assistive technology and accommodations specialist and technical support specialist at State Farm. His responsibilities throughout this time included conducting research and supporting individuals who are blind or have other disabilities — a challenge he embraced and developed a passion for despite having no prior experience in the area.
From 1996 to 1999, Mr. Dean excelled as a technical support specialist at State Farm, providing essential assistance to users navigating Windows programs and other complex technological systems.
Mr. Dean began his State Farm journey in 1986 as a software developer, spending nearly a decade developing code for the HP3000 mainframe computer before transitioning into roles that focused on supporting utilities for individuals with disabilities. Though his tenure at State Farm counts many milestones, he is especially proud of his ability to continually adapt to new roles in the ever-evolving technological realm and develop innovative solutions that improve accessibility for all.
Before venturing onto his path at State Farm, Mr. Dean pursued higher education and earned a Bachelor of Arts in computer science with studies in business and information technology from Anderson College in Indiana (now Anderson University) in 1986. To augment his ability to address the shifting technological challenges within his field in recent years, he has completed courses in responsible artificial intelligence usage, using Windows 11, accessible portable document format (PDF) creation and storytelling leadership, all through LinkedIn.
Reflecting on his storied journey to date, Mr. Dean attributes his success to what he describes as the hand of God guiding his life and career path. He believes that divine intervention opened doors for him that he had not initially sought out or trained for formally, allowing him to make a significant impact on those in need within the realm of assistive technology.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Dean has demonstrated a strong commitment to civic engagement. He served as a Scoutmaster with Scouting America (formerly the Boy Scouts of America) while his sons were growing up, dedicating several years to mentoring youth and fostering leadership skills within the troop. Additionally, he taught lessons from the Bible through volunteer work with Awana Clubs International.
Mr. Dean’s outstanding contributions have seen him recognized with several honors throughout his life, including Eagle Scout and Wood Badge awards from Scouting America as well as being named class salutatorian in high school. He was also previously selected for inclusion in Who’s Who Among American High School Students. Happily married since 1985, a proud father of five children and grandfather of 10 as of 2026, he enjoys spending quality time with his family, studying technology and exercising as a balance to his professional endeavors.
Determined to further his impact in the coming years, Mr. Dean aspires to help individuals with physical and cognitive challenges better use essential technologies while making digital content more accessible for everyone. His ultimate goal is to empower all people, regardless of their abilities or life circumstances, to access crucial digital content such as applications, websites and documents, thereby enhancing their daily participation in various activities.
