13MP Monochrome USB 3.2 Camera | Onsemi AR1335 Sensor | M12 Lens Mount with VCM Autofocus | UVC Compliant | Low-Noise Imaging

FORT WORTH, TX / ACCESS Newswire / March 30, 2026 / Vadzo Imaging, a global provider of embedded vision cameras, today introduced the Falcon-1335MRH, 13MP Monochrome VCM Autofocus USB 3.2 Gen 1 UVC camera built on the Onsemi AR1335 CMOS sensor. Engineered for precision imaging systems requiring consistent focus control and high-resolution grayscale capture, the camera combines 13MP monochrome imaging, VCM-based autofocus, interchangeable M12 optics, and UVC-compliant USB connectivity, enabling reliable image acquisition across inspection, medical, and embedded vision applications without manual focus calibration or complex system integration.

The Falcon-1335MRH integrates the AR1335 sensor (1/3.2″ BSI CMOS, 1.1µm pixel), delivering high spatial resolution with improved light sensitivity and contrast performance. Its monochrome architecture eliminates Bayer filtering, enabling enhanced edge definition and consistent feature extraction for applications where grayscale accuracy directly impacts detection and analysis. The sensor supports multiple resolution and frame rate configurations, including 4K at 30fps, 1080p at 60fps, and 720p at 120fps, allowing system designers to balance resolution, throughput, and processing load. With GPIO support and a compact board architecture convertible from 38mm × 38mm to 32mm × 32mm, the Falcon-1335MRH is designed for direct integration into space-constrained embedded systems, robotics platforms, medical devices, and industrial inspection equipment.

Key Capabilities of the Falcon-1335MRH Onsemi AR1335 Monochrome Autofocus USB 3.2 Gen 1 UVC Camera

High-Resolution Monochrome Imaging for Precision Vision Systems: The Falcon-1335MRH delivers 13MP (4208 × 3120) monochrome imaging using the Onsemi AR1335 sensor (1/3.2″ BSI CMOS with 1.1µm pixel), enabling high spatial resolution and improved light sensitivity. The absence of a color filter array enhances contrast and edge definition, supporting reliable feature extraction in inspection, OCR, and analytical imaging applications where grayscale accuracy is critical.

VCM-Based Autofocus for Dynamic Focus Control: The Falcon-1335MRH integrates a VCM-based autofocus mechanism within an M12 (S-Mount) lens system, enabling software-controlled focus adjustments across varying object distances. This allows consistent image sharpness without manual lens calibration, supporting deployments in automation systems, scanning platforms, and imaging setups with variable working distances.

High-Speed USB 3.2 Integration with UVC Compliance: The Falcon-1335MRH supports 13MP image streaming with 4K at 30fps, 1080p at 60fps, and 720p at 120fps via a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C interface with full UVC compliance. This enables driverless operation across Windows, Linux, and Android platforms without custom driver development. Backward compatibility with USB 3.0 ensures deployment flexibility across existing system architectures. The camera operates with a rolling shutter and complies with UVC, RoHS 3, and REACH standards, with an operating temperature range of -30°C to 70°C.

Flexible M12 Optics for Application-Specific Imaging: The Falcon-1335MRH supports interchangeable M12 lenses, with a default DFOV of approximately 74°, allowing system designers to configure field-of-view and working distance based on application requirements. This flexibility supports deployment across inspection systems, microscopy setups, and embedded vision platforms without requiring hardware redesign.

Compact and Integration-Ready Board Architecture: The Falcon-1335MRH features a 38mm × 38mm board convertible to 32mm × 32mm, weighing approximately 13g without lens, designed for direct integration into space-constrained embedded systems. USB-powered operation simplifies system design, while the compact form factor supports deployment in robotics, handheld devices, and industrial equipment where size and weight constraints are critical.

GPIO Support for Trigger and Synchronization Workflows: The camera includes GPIO support for external trigger and synchronization, enabling integration into systems requiring controlled capture timing and coordination with external hardware. This supports applications such as inspection systems, multi-camera setups, and event-driven imaging workflows.

“High-resolution monochrome imaging systems often require manual focus calibration and complex integration workflows,” said Alwin Vincent, Product Manager, Vadzo Imaging. “With the Falcon-1335MRH, we are simplifying deployment by combining autofocus-enabled optics with UVC-based USB connectivity, enabling consistent imaging performance across a range of embedded vision applications.”

VISPA SDK for Developer Integration

The Falcon-1335MRH Monochrome USB 3.2 Gen 1 UVC Camera is supported by the Vadzo VISPA SDK, providing fine-grained control over streaming, exposure, gain, autofocus, ROI configuration, and trigger synchronization. APIs are available for C, C++, and Python across Windows, Linux, and Android platforms, enabling faster development cycles and streamlined integration into embedded vision systems and AI pipelines.

Target Applications (Sharpened Version)

The Falcon-1335MRH is designed for vision systems that require high-resolution monochrome imaging with consistent focus control across variable working distances, along with simplified USB-based integration. Typical applications include:

Industrial Inspection and Quality Control: High-resolution 13MP monochrome imaging for detecting micro-defects, fine edges, and surface inconsistencies in parts with varying reflectivity, where consistent contrast and autofocus-enabled sharpness improve detection accuracy across different inspection stations without repeated manual calibration.

Robotics and Machine Vision Systems: Vision-guided automation for pick-and-place, alignment, and object detection tasks where working distances change dynamically, requiring continuous focus adjustment. Autofocus ensures consistent image clarity during motion, while monochrome imaging improves feature detection in structured and unstructured environments.

Microscopy and Medical Imaging: High-detail grayscale imaging for laboratory and diagnostic workflows where focal depth varies across samples, requiring continuous focus adjustment without manual intervention. The combination of 13MP resolution and autofocus supports consistent capture across multiple focal planes in microscopy and analytical imaging systems

Barcode, OCR, and Document Processing Systems: High-contrast imaging for reading low-quality prints, reflective surfaces, and variable document positions, where monochrome output improves edge definition and autofocus maintains sharpness across different scan distances in kiosks and automated document handling systems.

Precision Measurement and Metrology Systems: Fine-resolution imaging for dimensional measurement and edge-based analysis, where pixel-level detail and stable grayscale output improve measurement repeatability. Autofocus ensures consistent edge sharpness across varying part heights and measurement setups.

Embedded Vision and Edge AI Platforms: Deployment in embedded systems where UVC-compliant USB 3.2 connectivity eliminates the need for custom drivers, simplifying integration into compute platforms. Flexible resolution modes, including 4K at 30fps, allow balancing of image quality and processing load in AI-based vision pipelines.

Compact and Space-Constrained Imaging Systems: Integration into handheld devices, compact inspection tools, and embedded modules where limited space restricts optical adjustment. The compact board design combined with autofocus reduces the need for mechanical focus mechanisms, simplifying system design.

Availability

The Falcon-1335MRH 13MP Monochrome VCM-based Autofocus USB 3.2 Gen 1 UVC Camera is available for OEM evaluation and production deployment. Engineering teams can access technical documentation, procure evaluation units, and receive design-in and integration support directly from Vadzo Imaging.
